Damon Albarn joined Brian Eno’s performance of a specially composed piece for the event. 

He performed a medley of traditional Palestinian songs alongside the London Arab Orchestra and the Juzour Dance Collective, which triggered one of the strongest audience responses of the night. 

Later in the evening, he appeared with Yasiin Bey and Omar Souleyman to debut the new track “Damascus” — a preview from his band Gorillaz’ upcoming album The Mountain. 

Albarn has publicly reaffirmed his support for Palestine, calling pacifism an active choice and stating: “I come from a pacifist family … acting with humanity towards the other is also a decision.” 

Albarn’s performance was notable for its blending of activism and artistry: his role wasn’t just musical but also symbolic, aligning a major artist with humanitarian concerns and cultural solidarity.
