ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The interview was recorded hours before the official broadcast.

The interview was part of the premiere of their new Double A single, “The Hardest Thing / Orange County.”

The song focuses on saying goodbye, especially to someone you love. It can be understood as the end of a relationship, an emotional farewell, or, at its deepest level, death. Damon explains that “the hardest thing is death,” and this feeling runs throughout the track.

The album is compared to Plastic Beach in terms of scale and world-building, rather than sound. However, Damon says he rarely looks back at previous work, as it can feel depressing, even though he still appreciates pieces like Melancholy Hill.

BizRap is described as a mysterious and highly committed artist who puts enormous energy into his music. A slightly different version of “Orange County” was made for radio, while keeping the essence of the track intact.

Damon discovered Cara Jackson through Loopsims and was immediately drawn to her voice, describing it as one that instantly transports him to another place — something he actively looks for in collaborators.

Collaborating with Anushka Shankar was especially meaningful for Damon, who grew up listening more to Ravi Shankar than to The Beatles. He describes her as an extraordinary musician and a wonderful person.

Damon confirms there is a large amount of unreleased music, including collaborations with Erykah Badu, De La Soul, MF DOOM, and The Horrors, among others.
